Pretexture Primer

Professional Pretexture Primer is a special formulation designed to produce a uniform surface prior to the application of texture over taped drywall. This process will minimize the flashing which is often observed after the textured surface has been painted, particularly with paints having sheen.

  • INTERIOR WALLS AND CEILINGS CONSTRUCTED OF DRYWALL WHICH HAS BEEN TAPED BUT NOT TEXTURED OR PAINTED.

 

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

RESIN TYPE: Vinyl/Acrylic

 

VOC:

  • Less than 250 g/l

 

COLORS: White

VISCOSITY: 128 - 135

 

FILM THICKNESS: 3-5 Mils per coat

 

COVERAGE

Apply at the rate of 150-300 square feet per gallon, depending upon the condition, texture and porosity of the substrate.

APPLICATION

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Allow all construction and patching materials to cure completely. Surface must be sound and free of contamination from dirt, wax, oil, grease, etc. If necessary, wash surface with detergent and water then rinse with clean water. Any glossy surface should be lightly sanded to remove the gloss. Remove mildew by washing with a solution of household bleach and wart water then rinsing with clean water.

                  

APPLICATION:

Brush, roll, or spray. 

THINNING: No thinning is recommended.

DRYING TIME:

  • Touch ----------------------- 1 Hour

  • Recoat Spray ---------------2 Hours

  • Recoat Brush/Roll --------- 4 Hours

  • Texture ----------------------24 Hours

CLEAN UP: Soap and water.

 

CAUTIONS, WARNINGS:

Do not apply when surface temperature, or ambient temperature is below 50 degrees F. Do not apply to exterior surfaces when rain is expected within 24 hours. Keep from freezing. Do not take internally. Keep out of the reach of children.
