Waterguard

Waterguard is a non-flammable, water soluble siliconate solution. Waterguard provides a deep penetrating, clear, non-yellowing protective structure on above ground vertical concrete and masonry surfaces. It improves the water resistance, stain resistance, and efflorescence resistance, as well as improving the coverage and holdout of the finish coat of paint.

APPLICATION

SURFACE PREPARATION:

Allow all construction and patching materials to cure completely. All surfaces to be coated must be sound, clean, free of contamination from dirt, wax, oil, grease, etc. Wash masonry surfaces with a mild acid to remove any existing efflorescence that can cause darkening of the surface when Waterguard is applied. Protect shrubbery and other plants with drop cloths. Glass, aluminum and other surfaces should be masked or suitably protected from over-spray and dripping. If windows or aluminum frames are accidentally over-sprayed, immediately remove the solution with a wet rag.

APPLICATION:

For optimum performance Waterguard must be diluted with water to a two to three percent silicone solids solution. This is achieved by adding nine gallons of water to one gallon of Waterguard concentrate.

AIRLESS SPRAY: Keep the spray system pressure as low as possible. Apply a flood coat and allow material to run down six to twelve inches. Always maintain a wet wed. DO NOT apply more than one coat of Waterguard. Application of more than one coat may result in the formation of a white surcate precipitate of sodium carbonate which may require sand blasting or wire brushing to remove. After drying Waterguard will continue to react with the carbonaceous substrate.
